Compact Flash cards are often used in DSLR cameras and high end digital cameras to keep large number of photos. These compact flash cards contain built-in controller, which controls the read and writes operations i.e. built-in controller informs the CF memory card, whether or not to read or write the information. Generally, CF memory cards are available in high storage capacities and high access speeds and they are also more durable in comparison with other sorts of memory cards. Memory cards commonly use file system to arrange the files in appropriate manner. Just like, a CF memory card whose storage capacity is low i.e. around 2GB uses FAT16 file system whereas CF cards whose storage capacity is much more i.e. more than 2GB size uses FAT32 file system. There are four a variety of data transfer rates in CF memory cards i.e. a standard CF, CF high speed, faster CF3.0 and fastest 4.0. CF memory cards are suitable for IDE and ATA harddrive standards. Hence, fortunately they are used in different embedded system. CF cards are less susceptible to mechanical failures as they do not have moving parts like hard disks. But, they’re not in a position to protect data against logical failures like accidental deletion of photos from CF cards. Now, a common [...]
